GCCCD GRANT DEVELOPMENT PROCESS

GCCCD wants to see great ideas come into action on our campuses.  To ensure that grant applications have wide-spread support we have a process for building that support.

Step 1: Build Support for your Idea (1-2 weeks)

To start, make sure that you have your Dean’s approval to begin the process.  Then coordinate with the FGCC. We will make sure your idea is consistent with GCCCD’s strategic priorities and help you navigate the process.

Step 2: Develop Your Project (1- 6 weeks depending on the complexity of the application)

Next you will create a project outline using the Grant Planning Form.  Once completed, you will get the signatures of your Dean and your Vice President will present the idea to your college’s Cabinet.  The Cabinet will evaluation the feasibility of the project, the resources needed to implement the project, any additional funding needed, partnerships, and challenges.

If approved, it is time to craft your proposal.  The FGCC can help you plan the application process, develop your budgets, and review your drafts.

Step 3: Submit Your Proposal (2 weeks)

Once your proposal is complete, you will submit the Request for Grant form for review and approval.  This can take up to 2 weeks, so plan accordingly.  The District Business Office will submit the proposal for you.

If approved, you will want to schedule an implementation meeting with your Dean and colleagues as soon as possible to start your project.

See your idea make a difference!
