Public Safety Task Force

Charge: Provide Recommendations for campus safety & security plan for the district to provide safety to students and staff and to secure the district facilities for fiscal year 2021-22.  Recommendations will to go to DEC, then Chancellor’s Cabinet and the Board.

• Data Analysis:
  • Analyze the crime report and call logs to see what the nature of the crimes/calls for the last 3 to 5 years.
  • Identify the district needs based on the data to provide safety to students and staff and to secure the district facilities.

• Models:
  • Look at other institutions safety and security plans
  • Institutions with multi colleges and same size as our district

• Best Practice:
  • Is there research on best practice?

• Open Forums:
  • Offer open forums at both colleges for students and staff to get input on campus safety and security
