Holiday Reflections
12/14/2018 - As another year comes to a close, it’s easy to get caught up in the busyness of our workday and personal lives. Let me encourage you to make it your holiday gift to yourself to take some time to rest, relax, and set your cares aside. Focus on enjoying yourself, spending time with your family and friends, and appreciating the festive spirit of this season.

A Message from the Chancellor: LENDING OUR SUPPORT AND SYMPATHY IN THESE PERILOUS TIMES
11/15/2018 - As Thanksgiving approaches, the normally happy occasion to spend time with loved ones and friends is tinged with sorrow as we think of the recent tragedies that have befallen our state. The loss of precious lives and the devastating impacts of the mass shooting in Thousand Oaks and the wildfires that continue to ravage Northern and Southern California with such ferocity have significantly impacted community colleges.

A Message from the Chancellor: Liberty & Social Justice for All
10/30/2018 - Last Sunday, I visited the Statue of Liberty on what turned out to be the 132nd anniversary of her dedication. Looking at her upraised arm holding a torch 305 feet high, I thought of the hopeful expectation that millions of newcomers to our country must have felt when they first saw Lady Liberty after their unspeakably arduous journeys from all around the world. At the base of the statue is Emma Lazarus’ paean reminding us that all are to be welcomed: “Give us your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free."

There is no imminent threat to Grossmont or Cuyamaca College.
