Summer 4/10 Schedule Reference

In accordance with the approved academic calendar, the summer 2021, 4/10 schedule will start on June 7 and end on August 6. Beginning June 7, districtwide service hours for the summer will be Monday – Thursday, 8am – 6pm. Some departments may have employees scheduled outside of that time period based on prior approvals of their supervisors.

The district facilities will be closed Friday, Saturday and Sunday each week and any exceptions to access the campus must be approved by Chancellor’s Cabinet on an individual basis.

  • All buildings will be fully alarmed during the shutdown. If approved to be on campus, CAPS will need to  be contacted to disarm the area for scheduled access. 
  • In accordance with the Districtwide Sustainability Plan, lighting and air conditioning will be shut off and only provided with the approval of the president. In addition, restrooms will remain locked.

Sample Schedules

Employees should work with their supervisors to create a ten hours per day schedule. Please plan to adhere as closely as possible to that schedule for the entire summer. Discuss any necessary changes with your manager/supervisor. A Change in Work Schedule form is not required during the 4/10 schedule.

Here are a few sample schedules you may want to consider and discuss with your manager/supervisor:

 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. (30 min. lunch)

7:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (30 min. lunch)

8:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. (30 min. lunch)

 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (60 min. lunch)

7:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. (60 min. lunch)

8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. (60 min. lunch)
 

Breaks

During the 10-hour shift, employees are entitled to two 20 minutes breaks.


Vacation

Employees can use vacation to shorten the 10-hour work day.
