GCCCD PRIORITIES

There are many considerations when determining whether to apply for a grant, these include:

  • Does the idea fit into GCCCD’s strategic priorities?
  • Does the idea address critical needs of students, the community or the district?
  • Does the district meet eligibility requirements?
  • Is the probability good for funding given the time spent to develop the proposal?
  • Does the district have staff capable of carrying out the project?
  • Does the district have the facility/physical capacity to carry out the project?
  • Will funding be sufficient to accomplish the objective in the time allowed?
  • Does the project require match funding?
  • Should we collaborate with other colleges or organizations?
  • How will the district sustain the project after the funding ends?

There are many grant opportunities available for important projects, but they are competitive.  Finding grant opportunities that align with your idea are critically important to actually receiving funding.  They FGCC can help determine whether your project is a match and if so how to fine-tune your project idea to increase your chances of getting funded.
